Transferring a domain to us

Updated May 21, 2026

A transfer moves the registration to us. The domain keeps working throughout the process if you do it in the right order.

Before you start

  • The domain must be at least 60 days old, and not transferred in the last 60 days.
  • Your current registrar must show the domain as Unlocked.
  • You need the EPP / Auth code — it's in the domain settings at your current registrar.
  • The contact email on the domain must be one you can read — the confirmation lands there.

Starting the transfer

  1. Go to Domains → Transfer in our site.
  2. Type the domain name and click Search.
  3. Paste the EPP code.
  4. Pay. One year is added to the existing registration period.

What happens next

  1. An email goes to the registrant address with an approval link.
  2. You click Approve.
  3. The transfer completes in 5–7 days (most TLDs).

Tip

Update nameservers before starting the transfer if you want zero downtime — that way DNS is already on our side when the registration switches.
